International Ski Club of Zürich

Held at Swissotel, Zürich on Wednesday, 12th November 2014

    1. Welcome and Introduction

The President opened the meeting at 18.40. She welcomed the members present and introduced the Committee (see later for complete list).

    1. Minutes of the Previous AGM

The minutes of the 28th AGM were tabled and approved.

    1. President’s Report

The President presented an overview of the previous season’s events:

    • It was the fifth year of online registration for January ski school. The ski school in January/February was again a success. There were aperos organised after the school on both Saturdays and Sundays, which benefitted the members paying for the ski school. The two ‘big’ aperos on the first weekend of the school were well attended and appreciated by members and ski instructors alike.

    • The fondue evening at Felsenegg in December 2013.

    • Davos weekend

    • March ski school

    • Various Aperos

    • Changes to committee were noted – see section 6.

    1. Financial Report

The Auditor’s report and 2015 budget was presented and explained by the Treasurer. Brian Sparks audited the accounts as in previous years. Net loss for the period was CHF3,910 which was lower than the budget of CHF8,540.

This was primarily due to less expense on social events and reduced numbers at Davos.

Next year’s budget was discussed by The Treasurer, copies were tabled at the meeting.

The proposal for FY15 is to attempt to lessen the cash reserve. Budgetted net loss is CHF6,380.

    1. Year ahead

This year online registration for the ski school will continue, with an apero organised to address questions people might have about the ski school, with members from the ski school present.

Expected events for this year are:

    • January ski school – with aperos on each of the weekends.

    • March ski school

    1. Other Business

There is a new website www.iscz.org

The President contacted a lawyer to ask for changes in the terms and conditions of membership of the club. It needs to be clarified that the Committee are not liable when members organise an event and the club needs to purchase insurance to protect itself. These terms and conditions will be finalised in time for the ski school registration and will be published on the website.
